Board Nomination Announcements
We are pleased to announce the nomination of two candidates for the Northern Virginia Church of Christ Board of Directors: Winston C. Barber, Jr. (incumbent) and Matthew P. Jefson. The election will be held during our corporate meeting on March 9th, 2025.

For Membership Consideration:
Matthew P, Jefson
Family and Ministry: Matthew married Kim in 1994 and they have three adult children. Matt and Kim were baptized in 1995 in the Cheyenne Church of Christ. They served in 9 churches and are now House Church leaders in the NVCOC West Region.
Professional: Matt is the Department of General Services Assistant Director for Facility Maintenance, leading an agile team of 70 trades and professionals supporting Loudoun County. Previously he served as an Air Force Civil Engineer Officer retiring in December 2023.
Winston C. Barber, Jr.
Family and Ministry: Baptized at UMBC, Winston has been a dedicated leader for over 20 years. As a teen leader, he mentored and inspired young disciples to grow in their faith. At NOVA, he led singles’ house churches/Bible talks, shaped young minds in children’s ministry, and was a leader of community service initiatives for singles. A key contributor to ICOC singles, he also connects disciples globally as an admin for Single Disciple Connection (SDC).
Professional: A well-rounded leader with 15 years in program and project management valued in the millions, Winston is the Deputy Director and Global Malware Exploitation Team Lead at the Department of Defense, spearheading critical cyber initiatives. As the Agency Academic Liaison to the University of Notre Dame, Winston has been instrumental in strengthening the partnership between the Agency's STEM programs and Notre Dame’s Engineering and Computer Science Departments. He cultivates top STEM talent, securing future leaders for government service. His career spans the Pentagon and U.S. Navy as a combat systems analyst.
